Bottle, many thanks martjoobolut! Black color with dark beige head. Aroma is vanilla, berries, would not necessarily have guessed blackberries, but definitely tart berries in there; liquorice, dark chocolate. Taste is smooth chocolate, vanilla, interesting rye spice character, leathery, berry skin tannins, a touch raisins. Iodine, vanilla & liquorice aftertaste. Very velvety mouthfeel that is maybe a tiny little bit too tannic/chalky to be perfect. Very interesting, and very well-made - a winner!

Pours quite black, brown hued foam on top. Vinious chocolaty aroma, liquorice and some soy sauce. Taste has nice viscosity, dry dark chocolate and overall quite vinous. Dry cocoa powder linger in the finish. Quite decent.

Estonian blackberry stout, tasted from tap at ’Cause Beer Loves Food in Amsterdam. Membranously lacing, moussy, pale yellowish beige, medium thick head on top of black beer with hazy mahogany brown edges - the colour only visible at a few millimeters off the edge. Aroma of lots of sweet-and-sourish ripe blackberries, candied fig, black cherry juice, fondant chocolate, Cuban cigar ashes, marmelade, espresso, sugared tea, cinnamon, peppercorns, butterscotch candy, leather, hazelnut shells. Lively fruity onset, lots of ’genuine’ dark fruit in the form of blackberries mingling with the natural fig- and raisin-like fruitiness of the beer, adorned with a meaty umami accent; softish carbo, thick, viscous and oily mouthfeel. Deep nutty bittersweet malt body with lovely toasted edges, subtle rye bread spiciness and a sufficiently developed roasted bitterness towards the end, even a bit ashy for a brief moment, before plunging into spicy hoppiness, ongoing ’black fruit juiciness’ and warming, whisky-like alcohol. Beautiful stout.
