Some serious homerism going on in these ratings. Kind of a misguided beer. Coffee on plenty, and some vegetable coffee tang. Golden pour with ok head. Not something you want to drink much of. Cream. Sweet finish with light off tang. Can.

4 month old can A: Clearish dull gold color with a short dark beige head that fell quickly to a ring. S: Creamy coffee, milk chocolate and nondescript beer. Maybe some herbal hops. T: Follows the nose. Sweet creamy coffee with generic beer notes including faint pine and herbs. Vanilla and lactose dominate near the end. M: Soft low carbonation, light body, creamy slick mouthfeel. O: OK but nothing stands out. Will try it again fresher.

Draft at Catawba Morganton. Pours a clear gold with a small bit of white head that dissipates. Lovely aromas of coffee and cream on the nose. Palate shows coffee, cream and light chocolate notes. Smooth finish with lingering coffee and vanilla. Very nice.

Interesting, mixing a subtle java backbone with a crisp golden ale graininess, but the natural vanilla flavor proves sweet and overbearing, becoming much more prominent than any coffee notes. Vanilla presence only grows as the pint warms. Good orange color, and the nose is decent--if subdued--but ease off the flavoring chemicals, guys.

Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is a decent enough roasted coffee but not much else. Flavor is again a nice coffee and a little marshmallow sweetness. It's like coffee with the creamer added. Decent coffee beer that is sweet at the end.

Draft at the source, their most recent small batch series. Clear golden yellow color, white head. Nice earthy coffee aroma. Taste is coffee on a bed of straw. Very tasty.
