Single Hop NEIPA

One hop. One myth. Beyond Erebus is a New England IPA brewed exclusively with the new Erebus hop variety, taking you deep into a world ruled by aromas of blueberries, citrus, tropical fruits and flowers. Darkness has never smelled this good.

In Greek mythology, Erebus was the personification of darkness — the deepest and most desolate part of the Underworld. In our version, however, it smells like a dream! Beyond Erebus is a journey into the depths of aroma — a New England IPA brewed exclusively with Erebus hops, formerly known as HS16660 a new hop variety from the American breeding program at Hopsteiner. This hop bomb is extremely high in geraniol and free thiols, which are biotransformed during fermentation to release intensely aromatic compounds such as citronellol and linalool. The result? A juicy explosion of blueberries, candied citrus, tropical fruits and a subtle floral whiff of rose. To us, Erebus represents a new era of hopping – its biotransformation power pushes the boundaries. Beyond Erebus shows just how deep aroma can go. And that even in darkness, things can smell devilishly good.

Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is floral, some fruity, nectary and mild toffeeish tones. Flavour is floral, fruity, some nectary and mild toffeeish tones with some mild oat as well. On the sweeter side of things.

Tap at ZBF 2025. Murky yellow body, off-white head. Distinct citric hoppy aroma. Lean, dry citric taste, light apricot, bit minerally, dry. Not too wordy on this one, but it was solid, the body I kinda didn't dig.

Med-thin body, med carbo. Med-high bitterness and zestiness, light sweetness. Zesty is the name of the game here, hops is mainly zesty, resiny, a bit grassy. Lacks a bit of juice. Erebus does not cut it on its own. Goodish beer, but that's about it.
