Very clear deep copper and bronze coloured body with a dense, large and very long-lasting tan head, about seven centimetres tall! Aroma of biscuits, caster sugar, piney, pacific northwest hops, alcohol, soap and some noticeable mango notes. Light-bodied; Very thin, super hop-forward bitter beer with piney and almost resinous hop flavours coming through, with a deep floral and fresh-cut grass character right behind, all with almost no malt taste or body here at all, with a herbal kick at the end that shows a tiny bit of astringency and alcohol. Aftertaste is very dry, bitter, pungent, grassy and floral, with a slight note of mango flavours, but nothing at all in terms of malt or body here, this is very thin and one-dimensional throughout. Overall, pretty poor, but at least it's not bad - it just is easy-to-predict and very simplistic, and missing something important...oh yeah, MALT! Still nice to grab from North Carolina, but maybe I'll pass on this brewery the next time I go down there! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Harris Teeter in Cary (Tryon Village), North Carolina on 30-May-2021 for US$1,87 sampled at my house here in Washington on 05-June-2021.

4 month old pint can A: Clear dull orange pour with huge long lasting rocky head leaving thick lace. S: Muted scent of sweet caramel, orange and marmalade. T: Fruity and tart hop bitterness. Heavy tropical and malty notes lend some sweetness. M: Crisp carbonation and light medium body. Chewy resinous finish. O: Has low ratings but I think it's quite good. Not cheap though, and hard to find fresh. Still a nice IPA at a nice ABV.
