Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice, and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Sample at Kurtkeller 007: Founders-tastic 01 on 03/06/2014. Pours a dark copper color with a medium beige head that recedes slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Lots of malt and caramel in the nose along with bourbon. Rich body with flavors of malt, dark fruit, bourbon and vanilla. The finish is full and sweet with a caramel malt and chocolate aftertaste. Alcohol is well-masked throughout. Good beer all around.
