Hop Pursuit is the ultimate celebration of Oregon agriculture and Pacific Northwest Hops. Our brewers shoot a wonderfully hoppy surplus of Cascade, Mosaic, Equinox, and Simcoe into the fermenter using our Hop Shooter, dry hopping the beer and enhancing the aroma of pineapple and late hop flavors. Piney and mango notes follow with a mid-palate hint of honey. Two-Row Northwest Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts provide the right amount of malt character. Balanced by a clean, caramel malt body, Hop Pursuit’s multi-layered hop flavors lead to a crisp, assertive finish. Like the Pacific Northwest, this IPA has hops for days.

Wow - Full Sail really dropped the ball on this one - quite a surprise - to call the malt body on this "lean" is being kind - the malt profile is practically non-existent - goes from crackery to watery within a few seconds - hops are strong, but the bitterness is astringent and soapy long through the finish - the nose is a bit better, with citrus and mint making things interesting - but man...disappointing.

Nice slightly hazy copper coloured orangish bodied with a nice thinnish tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, malt, cardboard, some mild fruits and a light bit of alcohol. Light to Medium-bodied; Nice mild maltiness with some hops, rather subdued, with some light sweetness and a bit of hop dryness, hardly any bitterness though. Aftertaste shows a fairly minimal flavour - with hops the strongest and a bit of malt. Overall, a pretty mild beer - even in this style. Worth trying if you like lighter APAs, but aside from a normal drinking beer, this isn’t too pleasing. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 25-May-2010, sampled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 29-May-2010.

Bottle Pours a clear light reddish orange with asmall light tan head. Faint sweet fruity malt aroma with classic modest citrus hop component. Lightly bitter flavor with mild maltiness as well. Slightly metallic, and then a moment later, big bready malt flavors, and then a rather sharp IBU bite at the end. A little sweet over all as well. Softly carbonated. Decent.

Bottle. Poured orange with thick fast dissipating white head. Citrusy aroma, notes of sweet tangerine. Medium body, hoppy flavour slightly more so than most pales. Light finish.

Orange peel, weak. Clear golden, medium head. Dry malt flavor, distinctly barley at midpalate, with a lemon zest finish. Well assembled, with nice transitions. Nothing exotic, and lacking oomphf, but it has its charms. Quaint.

Bottle from the Co-Op in Davis, CA. Pours hazy amber with an ok off-white head. Aromas of fruit, floral and a touch of something citrus/spicey. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Very nice feel. Flavor is not harsh bitter, but more floral over a decent amount of caramel. Smooth enough to be English - almost. Some bitter does come forth, but the hop is more lush than bitter. Very nice beer.

22 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a lightly hazy amber color with a medium frothy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of floral, leafy hops with some toasted malts. The taste is floral, leafy, citrus and tropical fruit hop notes with pale malts and a faint bit of caramel. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

Full Sail tasting at Enoteca in Post Falls, Idaho. 4 oz sample from bomber poured into shaker. Grainy aroma with just a faint hop character in the nose. Pours a lighter gold than Wreck the Halls and Slipknot. Small head and mediocre lacing. Very balanced. Not a hop bomb like the name implies. Medium-low carbonation. Tasty, yet nothing spectacular. Would make a nice session.

22 oz bottle. Wow, a very good beer here. Pours a crystal clear golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma is hops, touches of malts. Flavor is a nice, clean citrus hop one, with slight notes of malts, but for the most part, a good, decent, extremely well hopped pale ale.
