The Derwent Region with the mighty Derwent River is our home. It is also the home & birthplace of the Australian hop industry and has an excellent climate for growing grain. This ale gets it all ... our own farm grown hops, and Tasmanian grown spelt - the most unusual, most flavoursome grain on the planet - and our very own indigenous souring organisms. It is an utterly unique beer.

Smoky pineapple and a funk I can only describe as baijiu. Dry tart fruit. Boozy as it warms

Tap at ASF 2022, Reggio Emilia, Italy. Pours hazy golden, with very fine white foam. Aroma is a weird floral sweetish feeling, even a little funky. Body and carbonation are average. Medium astringency. Taste is a little sweet at first, with nice delicate acidity. Final is fairly long and still astringent.

(Bottle) Pours slightly hazy golden with small white head. Pleasant subtle aroma with notes of aromatic fruitiness, maybe ripe grapes, and hints of yogurt and funk. Lovely mouthfeel - medium body with bright carbonation. Great taste - unusual and complex. It’s tart but not overly so. The tartness is citrus / lemon with notes of not quite ripe pineapple. There’s some peppery spice. There’s a pleasant but subtle graininess which has no obvious malt sweetness but adds balance to the tartness. There’s a litre pleasant bitter note in the finish. Very enjoyable and interesting - kept sipping and tasting it.

As much sour as farmhouse, this one. Lots and lots of lemon overwhelm the funky farmhouse notes in the mouth. Nice aroma, just a bit too blunt for me, though I'm not a massive sour fan, so take that into account.

Brewed August 22nd 2015, bottled October 17th 2015.

It pours a hazy(unfiltered) orange gold massive head of foam, good lacing and lots of bubble action.

The smell is of citrus lemon, wheat, earthy aromas, cloves, some acetic sourness. Overall vibrant smell.

Lemon citrus taste up front, acetic sourness, wheat that comes across to me as earthy, other fruity tartness. Being 3 years old, I don't pick up much of what the Galaxy hops bring to the table.

Medium bodied with lively carbonation.

Excellent aged but makes me wonder what a fresh one tastes like.

Edit: Edit: I'm still sipping and just now realized that there's a healthy infusion of Brett in the finish.

Cask at the brewery. Tart, grainy, floral, fruity hops, soft acidity. Hops are assertive, intense bitter finish. Very refreshing.
