The aroma and flavor of this classic hefeweizen (or weissbier/wheat beer with yeast) is decidedly fruity with clove, nutmeg-like and even vanilla-like phenolics. Banana-like esters are also present. This beer is made with over 50 percent malted wheat, and hop rates are quite low, with hop flavor and aroma being absent. Hefeweizen is well attenuated and very highly carbonated, yet its relatively high starting gravity and alcohol content make it a medium-full bodied beer. The color is very pale. Because yeast is present, the beer will have yeast flavor and a characteristically fuller mouthfeel and is appropriately very cloudy.

Can, 0.355l. Aroma of wheat, banana, and clove. Pours hazy dark straw color with quickly diminishing off-white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts medium sweet grainy and banana-like, following is a bit sulphury, spicy and fruity, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Nice one…

Hazy yellow colour with thin head. It has the typical yeasty notes with some banana esters. Not too sweet though. Well made.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 10A). Can 35 cl - Batch B1273 10:49 (BBF unmarked - Canned on 03/24/20). AROMA: medium clove, yeast and wheat and a faint lemony note. APPEARANCE: hazy light gold body. medium white head with big bubble and low retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium-love clove, slight lemon. medium-low wheat background starting to show some oxidation (toffee-like). medium-low to low bitterness with a dry finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with high carbonation. bubbly sensation. OVERALL: an ok hefeweizen stating to show signs of age.

Not as sweet banana estery as I'd like but the nose is right!

Heavy for a hefe, with a deep, flowers-n-grain sweetness mixed with grass, vanilla, banana, clove, and lots of yeast. Finishes dry and spicy, with a touch of hay and lemon. Gorgeous pour, decent pint.

12oz can picked up at the state store. Pours cloudy dark yellow with a medium sized white head that dissipates quickly, some lacing. Banana, yeasty, spicy, mild plastic, estery. Decent.
