Pours an inviting chestnut colour with a fine off-white head and pungent fruity aroma. Lightly hopped, the intense flavour is of dried fruit, sherry, banana, pear, cake spice and festive pastry. Only traditional brewing ingredients are used, with the combination of malts and fermentation profile giving rise to a seductive, warming beer that’s refreshing and quaffable. The finish is dry, long and lingering; the perfect partner to a mince pie or hunk of stilton.

Can ordered from Hop, Black & Burns. Aroma had sweet malts and nougat, with dark fruit, berries and spice. Dark opaque amber brown. Foamy translucent white head soon fizzles out. Medium-heavy bitter with a sour edge. Dark fruit, berries and liquorice. Real tangy. Underlying dark chocolate malts. Spice most prominent into the finish. Medium bodied. Creamy. Soft lazily fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable spiced stuff.

Cans (7.4% ABV, 2023, from Great Grog, and 7.8% ABV, 2024, from The Beerhive). Hazy brown body with ruby highlights with a thin beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of boiled sweets, fruit cake, earth and nutmeg. Flavour of brown sugar, liquorice and warming spices. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is very nice - a sweet winter warmer.

Rich amber/ruby beer with a thin reddish-tan head which soon fizzles away. Smell has lots of sweet malt and a little spice. Flavour has sweet, tangy berries, a little dried fruit, toasty malt, some warming and sweet spice, a little bread., Decent body, nice warmth to this. Very drinkable.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. It pours deep brown with a small light tan head. The aroma is rich maltage, bitter - sweet, warming festive spice, touch of cinnamon, glove, nougat, dried fruits, fruit cake and toasted brown bread. The taste is slick, smooth, butter - sweet, toothy, brown bread, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, cherry, nutty, fruit cake, warming festive spice, cinnamon, clove rock, light tannin and a splash of cola with a toasty finish. Medium+ body and moderate, massaging carbonation. Rounded, flavourful and moreish. Nice one.

440ml can from Trembling Madness. Dark nutty brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is candy sugar and spice. Flavour definitely fits the Belgian brief, with sugary sweetness, figs, spices and boozy warmth
