Highlanders and Lowlanders agree, a good kilt lifting on occasion raises the spirits. With gentle roasted graininess and a touch of sweetness, Kilt Lifter is warm and strong enough for all ye lads, lasses and sheep. Put it in yer belly!

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown, with a medium, beige head, and nice lacing. Good nose of black bread, anise, peat, orange zest, cardamom. Sweet, with a light bitterness, and a good savory spice. Medium to heavy body, sticky, and doughy. This is a quality scotch ale, with a nice malty flavor.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep amber with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grain with hints of toffee and sweet fruits. Flavor begins with sweet fruit but has a good amount of toffee that comes out in the finish.

Tap. Sweet bing cherry and malt aroma. Dark amber color with small head. Initially a moderate hops flavor followed by a very nice caramel and cherry flavor and a hint of smokiness. Has a nice hops finish. Very nicely blended on the fruity side.

Draught after GA 14% gathering. Although there are a few things missing with this beer, I don’t think it will be long before these Georgia brewers have the kinks worked out on these bigger beers. Nice deep ruby color with a thick short lasting head. A hint of malt bitterness in the aroma. The flavor is sweet with a touch of bitterness, but it lacks the smoky/ peated malt contribution that I feel a Scottish or Scotch Ale should have.
