Where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean is the ancient city of Tangier. This confluence has made Tangier a cultural waypoint for millenia. From Greek heroes to Cold War spies and uprisings, Tangier has inspired thousands of legendary stories. It is written that before his battle with the giant Antaeus, Hercules rested in a nearby cave. But where myths end, our tale begins. Tangier is brewed as a Session India Pale Ale with spicy citrus aromas and stone fruit flavors. These flavors, with the addition of lightly roasted malts and brilliant hop bitterness, make Tangier a beverage as refreshing as it is exotic. The approachable 4.6% abv yields more time to enjoy the synergy between the tangerine peel and spicy, citrusy, Azacca hops. Enjoy Tangier in celebration of your epic adventure.

One of the better session IPAs. Aroma’s fresh hops and skunk. Flavor’s like nose, more bitter than sweet, good carbonic tang. Body is full but with low alcohol, lacks in expansiveness. Nice finish.

Pours clear straw into a Sam glass. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Tangerine and tropical fruit aromas. Soft with aspirin and citrus rind upfront turning to tangerine pulp before the lasting peel finish.

Bottle. Pale orange color, hazy, lace. Orange zest big in the nose, plus grassy and citrus hops. A bit over done on the zest, but decent citrus flavors. Body is a bit oily.

Bottle. It pours a pale yellow gold color with an off white head. The aroma is very s trong with fresh tangerine and grapefruity citrus. Light florals with very little malt. The flavor has lots of flowery hops, light rose and lavender with good tangerine notes and light honey tinged maltiness. Very flowery though. Fresh and smooth on the palate, with lower carbonation. Maybe a tad sweet in the finish. The bitterness is low and lightly spicy. Overall, a pretty nicely balanced fruit IPA.

Pours a slightly hazy amber from a bottle. Big citrus aroma continues in the taste along with some dank piney-ness too. A little thin like most sessions, but not as bad, actually palatable.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane’s Beer and Wine. Aroma is fruit, citrus and resin over a malty base. Appearance is clear, pale straw yellow with attractive sparkle, finger-width foamy head with fair retention and trace lacing. Taste is lightly sweet tangerine and fruit with spicy and resinous bitter. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft to average carbonation and bitter, dry finish. Overall, the bitter resin is the dominant force here for me, rather than the citrus and tangerine. Not a bitter bomb but not really my bag.
