Where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean is the ancient city of Tangier. This confluence has made Tangier a cultural waypoint for millenia. From Greek heroes to Cold War spies and uprisings, Tangier has inspired thousands of legendary stories. It is written that before his battle with the giant Antaeus, Hercules rested in a nearby cave. But where myths end, our tale begins. Tangier is brewed as a Session India Pale Ale with spicy citrus aromas and stone fruit flavors. These flavors, with the addition of lightly roasted malts and brilliant hop bitterness, make Tangier a beverage as refreshing as it is exotic. The approachable 4.6% abv yields more time to enjoy the synergy between the tangerine peel and spicy, citrusy, Azacca hops. Enjoy Tangier in celebration of your epic adventure.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane’s Beer and Wine. Aroma is fruit, citrus and resin over a malty base. Appearance is clear, pale straw yellow with attractive sparkle, finger-width foamy head with fair retention and trace lacing. Taste is lightly sweet tangerine and fruit with spicy and resinous bitter. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft to average carbonation and bitter, dry finish. Overall, the bitter resin is the dominant force here for me, rather than the citrus and tangerine. Not a bitter bomb but not really my bag.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a hazy yellow-gold color with a small foamy white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was dryish, tart and citric. The flavor was dryish and bitter with tart lemon, orange peel and pepper. Long finish. Might to medium body. Ok.

16oz tap at Sidedoor. Filtered yellow-orange. Not much head, some oily residue. Easy going citrus, golden malt. One dimensional. OK. Clean, nice, modern. The tangerine is well incorporated.

Not bad, light bodied, spritely hoppy, dry, hint of citrus and a zestiness reminiscent of wheat beer. Balanced. Cloudy amber, large foamy head.

On tap at Hollywood. Pale yellow. Nice lacing with an almost friendly ipa aroma. No co2. Bitter immature ipa flavors. Most as viscous as a real ipa. Not impressed with this or virtually any ipa.
