This big stout get’s aggressive with a boost from Allegro Coffee’s Exotic Mocha Java Blend. The coffee’s dark cherry flavors and spicy undertones weave into the rich, milky sweet stout like a chocolate-covered espresso bean melting on your tongue. Bitter then sweet. Sweet then bitter. It’s Bittersweet.

Keg at mother kellys. Opaque dark mahogany brown coloured pour with reddy hies and a lasting thin light tan loose head. Aroma is coco powder, earthy coffee bean, vanilla and a little coconut. Praline and smoke on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of burnt brown sugars, woody praline. Hints of smoke. Vanilla, creme caramel with a little wood. Palate is semi sweet, moderate, carbonation, slight creamy, really nice coffee bean character some woody tannin. Good.

Tap into a shaker showing very sparse latte colored foam, translucent coffee rims and a dark center. The nose shows a lot of ground roasted coffee. The palate is moderately carbonated and smooth. Mostly coffee-like forwardness that warms up to a much more mild and sweet latte-like flavor. The finish is once again similar to a latte bitterness but crossed with a rich milk chocolate flavor. The coffee is strong on the nose and in the beer, but the lactose easily brightens up the entire beer to something else. Rich but easy to drink.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, best before 4/17/2016. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, toasted oats, dark bread, vanilla, cream, light dark fruit, light smoke/char, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and nutty/earthy coffee notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, toasted oats, dark bread, vanilla, cream, light dark fruit, light smoke/char, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-medium roasted coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, toasted oats, dark bread, vanilla, creamy, light smoke/char, and roast/toasted earthiness after the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and nutty/earthy coffee flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly drying on the finish from roasted bitterness as well. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial coffee stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and nutty/earthy coffee flavors; and very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Pitch black color. Light brown nose. Deep bitter chocolate, lactosey nose with a faint nuttiness. Big full body, tons of coffee, acidic but balanced nice with lactose sweetness, big big and big flavors. Coffe dark chocolate and lactose just linger. Nice stuff.

Pour is a brown with some red highlights around the edges. Aroma is a nice coffee roast. Pretty spot on fresh coffee aroma. Flavor is a nice roast malt with some bitter chocolate and a creamy milk stout mouthfeel. Finish is a cold brew coffee witha little roast peanut. Not a huge coffee flavor but the base beer of a milk stout makes this a prety flavorful and solid beer.

Bottle at Oliver Twist. Dark brown with a tan head. A lot of coffee both in the aroma and taste. Also chocolate, some licorice and something that reminded of salt. Quite smooth and with a medium body.

Bomber from Beer Run. Why is an Allegro product available everywhere but my local Whole Foods? Dark brown with a large fizzy brown head. Good retention. Aroma of strong coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate and a bitter finish. The taste is roasted malts, lactose, coffee, chocolate. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness, low carbonation. Nice beer.

Coffee and charred oak nose. Cola black, medium tan head, little retention or glass adherence. Coffee and dark chocolate. Cherry cordial appears upon warming. Medium body, easy carbonation. A really wonderful beer, when enjoyed at warmer than normal termperature. Excellent crafting!
