This big stout get’s aggressive with a boost from Allegro Coffee’s Exotic Mocha Java Blend. The coffee’s dark cherry flavors and spicy undertones weave into the rich, milky sweet stout like a chocolate-covered espresso bean melting on your tongue. Bitter then sweet. Sweet then bitter. It’s Bittersweet.

Nice coffee notes. Pretty creamy. Sitting in the fridge for almost a year 😶

On the sweet side, but the strong dark roast bitterness on the back end helps make up for the sugary side. Starts with milk chocolate, vanilla, and caramel, then develops a deep vein of roast and espresso, before finishes like a double-shot latte. Not bad, but a little too much lactose for me.

Decent, but not one of my favorites I’ve had from Left Hand. Quite thin, and the “bitter” overpowers the “sweet”.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of fresh black coffee, milky chocolate, dried fruit, black rye bread, liquorice and a touch of orange peel. Malty, roasted taste with strong black coffee, chocolate, dried fruit, liquorice, vanilla, orange peel and a balanced coffee bitterness in a finish with a good milky sweetness. Full body, sweet. Smooth and creamy texture, rich in both coffee and chocolate. Very nice.

Pours a typical nitro serving pour. Black with 2 fingers of tannish foam.

Smells of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted/burnt malt. Lactose.

Coffee, semi sweet chocolate, burnt malt, lactose. Yeah, bittersweet.

Creamy mouthfeel, decent enough but when I finish the 4-pack, I'm done.

Bottle (Bittersweet Nitro). Earthy coffee, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Black with moderate light tan head. Moderately sweet coffee, chocolate malt, and moderately bitter grass/fresh hay flavor. Minimal carbonation (as you would expect). Good body. Pretty good - on the sweet side.

355ml bottle from the Beer Junction at Sofi’s. BB 2017-05-21. Pours an almost black with a tan head. Aroma is a cold coffee. Taste is smooth and quite sweet with coffee notes. Cold coffee slight bitter aftertaste. Quite pleasant and very drinkable (thx, nitro!).
