Bourbon Barrel-Aged Churro Imperial Stout • 12.9% ABV • While we typically build our confectionary stouts with layers of semi-traditional adjuncts (graham crackers, roasted nuts, cacao nibs, fresh fruit) to accomplish our pastry purposes, we tapped the unique brilliance of the Odd by Nature team and went right to the source for this churro stout with the addition of more than 1,000 literal churros. Late churro additions to the kettle, debarrelling through a bed of churros, and further conditioning through a mini-brite tank stuffed with, you guessed it, more churros make for a ridiculous and utterly delightful dessert beer. Aromas of pure pastry, doughy richness on the palate, hints of toffee and chocolate on the finish, and sparkling with perfectly incorporated cinnamon throughout!

Still plenty of cinnamon notes but on point with the churro flavors. Although churros to me mean way more sugar, this beer works for churro notes in drinkable form.

500 ml Thank you Tfontana on the share! Aroma is cinnamon, dough like malt, cinnamon. The flavor is might have some cinnamon. Like a boat load of cinnamon. Traces of sugar and chocolate. Body is ok. I mean… if you like Fried dough with cinnamon this is your bag!

Clear deep caramel. Small, light tan head.
Cinnamon and sugar galore. Not really a clear bourbon presence but lots of dough and also a ton of cinnamon. Getting apple too. But no alcohol.
Ok, there is actual bourbon in the flavor. Sweet and with tons of cinnamon apple pie. Medium-full body. You do get bourbon but there's also way too much cinnamon. If we took the cinnamon down about five notches and had a bit more rich textures with less pastry flour notes.

Bottle pour from Total Wine & More, W. Hollywood. Opaque, inky dark brown with light sparkle, no head or lacing. Aroma is base stout/pastry, cinnamon, vague background bourbon. Taste is strong, raisiny sweet stout, cinnamon, vague bourbon. Smooth, frothy texture, medium bodied, soft carbonation and finish as taste. This could have used some more churros. NOT! How about half as much churros? Base stout/bourbon obscured. Too churro.

Thanks Tom cinnamon, bourbon, lingering bitterness. It's ok but kind of sweet.
