Nothing beats the classics, and this September, we bring you the OG of pale lagers -FESTBIER!

Originally brewed to bring a lighter bodied, more quaffable option to the famous Oktoberfest, it’s the only way to truly mark the biggest celebration in beer!

Each year we take our passion for traditional brewing methods and ingredients and challenge our brewers to make an authentic homage to this festival beer.

This year’s Festbier uses a blend of Pilsner, Munich and Biscuit malts to provide a smooth backdrop which is balanced by a traditional German hop blend to give a crisp and clean finish. This is a beer to celebrate good times with great friends - Prost!

Can consumed at Hereford Beer House Saturday 18th October 2025 in the company of Baz and Isobel. Pours hazy yellow with a large white head. A very good festbier in truth it's a bit on the bitter side for the style but I actually like that, it's edgy with a good mouthfeel, there's a streaky citrus touch. Good but maltiness is definitely taking a back seat here.

On tap at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours a cloudy (but very slowly clearing) golden yellow with minimal off-white head and good lacing. The aroma has continental hops and alts. In the mouth it fluctuates between sweet and slightly bitter with a juicy texture. Flavour is hops and grains with traces of tropical fruit, bread rolls and alcoholic strength. Finish is slightly dry. This is decent enough but somewhat generic.
