Raspberries and sour beer is a magical pairing that creates something more than the sum of its parts: a perfect summer day in a glass. Our version of a Framboise draws inspiration from the farmland in the Santa Cruz mountains, where windswept hills have warm days and cool nights that result in tight, red berries with complex flavors and a ruby red-color. Combined with our sour blonde ale, the final blend highlights huge fruit flavor and the bounty of Coastal California. Pair with pancakes, seared duck breast and summer fruit tarts.

RB Odense Summer Gathering 2017. Hazy reddish golden with a small white head. Aroma of fresh raspberry with a nice funk. Dry and very tart raspberry flavour. In a way a very clean sour ale flavour, really delicious, although a touch too sour for me

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/9/2016. Pours slightly hazy medium golden/amber light pinkish/orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy raspberry, cherry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, red grape, white wine, pepper, oak, hay, straw, leathery/musty funk, wheat, cracker, light white vinegar/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, raspberries, wine barrels, and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy raspberry, cherry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, red grape, white wine, pepper, oak, hay, straw, leathery/musty funk, wheat, cracker, light white vinegar/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberry, cherry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, red grape, white wine, pepper, oak, hay, straw, leathery/musty funk, wheat, cracker, light vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, raspberries, wine barrels, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero puckering sourness after the finish. Moderate dryness from tart/spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and acidic/tannic/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.8%. Overall this is an awesome fruited sour/wild ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, raspberries, wine barrels, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the balanced lactic/tannic/drying finish. Great Brett complexity and jammy fruit presence; not overly lactic with a solid malt backbone. Nice level of funk after the 11 months of bottle age. A very enjoyable offering.

375ml bottle. Pours orange pink. Aroma is like a punnet of fresh raspberries. So much raspberry, yoghurt, vanilla, honey, little cherry, lots of dry white wine, apricot, pepper, nice oakiness, huge tart white wine vinegar. Gorgeous light fizzy body. The background is so complex, but the raspberry rings out over everything. Not far off perfect.

(375ml 2016 bottle from boxbeers.dk) Pours lightly hazy salmon colour with a ring of white head that ?. Aroma is somewhat tart and lightly sweet, with notes of raspberry candy, citrus, wood, fresh leaves, twigs, softly funky Brett. Rather sour on the palate, citric acidity, soft but quite present raspberry flesh, berry skins, lemon zest, floral notes, light to moderate neutral wood in the finish, quite soft and dusty yeast character with low funk. Bright, crisp, softly fruity with a bit of minerality and a dry finish from the wood. Light to medium body with high zippy carbonation. Really refreshing, the low fruiting rate makes a change from many raspberry beers but plays nicely with the base ale and wood. Solid summer sipper.

Bottle. A- Raspberry lemonade, tart, mild funk. A- Orange pink color, clear liquid, white head. T- Raspberry lemonade, tart, sour, subtle plastic. P- Light body, average texture, medium carbonation, refreshing finish. O- Didn’t get much of the funk that some of these other Farmer’s series beers have. This one was straight up refreshing tart raspberry. Delightful. It was hard not to just chug this down and slowly savor it.

Taproom draft into a shot-glass showing opaque hazy pink grapefruit hues with white foam lacing. The nose is acetic with hints of raspberry. The palate is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Moderately tart and raspberry forward, highly acetic with light raspberries on the finish.

Bottle at the brewpub. Pours slightly cloudy salmon pink. Aroma is very spritzy already, an impactful carbonation is already felt in the nose. Good raspberry aroma, has the air of a raspberry syrup made with sparkling water. Light body, super fruity and rather sour, yet well matched with each other. Carbonation is softer than expected, but carries the beer beautifully. Very tart. Medium long but rather dry palate, more raspberry. Good.
