This Espresso Bock marries the rich, malty backbone of traditional German brewing with the bold intensity of freshly roasted espresso. Dark chocolate and caramel notes dance with the espresso roast’s robust flavours, creating a smooth, complex brew that honors both traditions while forging something entirely new.

Bright amber, medium head, assertive coffee nose, the base here is okay, a warming caramel-toffee malt that serves as base for all the roast. I suspect on its own it lacks balance (it’s sweet) but the coffee counteracts that, which is what you want a treatment to do.

On tap at Luppolo. Pours hazy pale amber with a white head. Tons of green peppers on the nose. Flavour has more green pepper, some malts, brown sugar. Poor on a couple fronts.

473 ml can. Pours a bright mahogany color with light head that settles quickly. Aromas of earthy coffee, fruit and toasted malts. Flavors of same with emphasis on coffee which overwhelms the base beer.
