A slightly hazy deep orange golden beer with a beige lacing. Aroma of whiskey, strong dark malt, tart fruits. Taste of strong dark malt, red fruits, tart fruits, wood.

Mild säuerlicher, malzig-getreidiger Beginn. Geringfügig Whiskey, die Säure steigt leicht an, wird aber gut eingebunden. Im Anschluss kommen alkoholische Noten auf, kurzer Abgang. 10/8/8/8/7/8

Bottle picked up direct from Mr Hop, Venray, Netherlands and consumed Friday 14th November 2025 (Loz's birthday) we had a Fish Finger sandwich for tea tonight, listening to Afrodeutscha on 6Music. Pours mid brown with a decent sized off white head, actually it's more v.light beige. Hints of the Irish whisky on the nose and a little toffee and caramel. Full on and with some warmth from the significant above, at first I wondered is there a very slight sour tinge, but this subsided after a few sips..Not quite as smooth as hoped, there's a rich fruitiness it's very much in the English style of barley wine as opposed to a more hop forward American one. It's ok, but I was rather hoping that it'd be better than ok.
