Bottle. Color: Almost black, light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee. Taste: Roasted malt, coffee, mocha, notes of licorice. Hints of chocolate and vanilla. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. Somewhat more bitterness at finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Slightly sticky, some molasses. Almost like a smooth Imperial Stout instead of a Barleywine, although it's clearly stated on the label that it's a Barleywine. Quite nice.

75cl bottle shared. A gusher. Thin tan head. Very hazy black pour. A bit watery for a barley wine and the gushing lets it down. Earlier Rating: 11/8/2016 Total Score: 475cl bottle shared at the Paas monthly tasting. Thin ring tan head. Clear black pour. Very good

Bottle poor at Duinoord festival. Black with tan head. Big sweet deep roasted malts, barley, wood. Big roasty flavor with very smooth edges. Nutty, chocolatey and very sweet with a nice mild roasty bitterness. Almost full bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a bitter roasty finish wrapped in sweet vanilla. Tasty stuff!
