We’re proud to share our newest collaboration with our friend Todd from @goodwordbrewing in Duluth, Georgia: Kienbach—a classic Helles inspired by one of Bavaria’s most iconic brewing traditions. Named after the brook that runs beside the Kloster Andechs Monastery and Brewery, Kienbach pays homage to a style both of our breweries deeply admire.
Brewed with a grist of 100% German Pilsner malt, Hersbrucker and Saphir hops, and a yeast strain sourced from Kloster Andechs, this Helles is built on simplicity and balance. It pours a pale golden straw with a soft, lasting head. Notes of fresh grain and gentle biscuit carry through the aroma, joined by bright floral and herbal hop tones. On the palate, a clean malt sweetness leads into a crisp, refreshing finish—spunded for natural carbonation and lagered extensively for refinement.
Kienbach is a beer made for lingering afternoons in the biergarten with family and friends—just as we’ll be enjoying here on campus this Oktoberfest season.

Oh yeah, that's the stuff...rich mineral and lightly bready, honey-drenched malts with mild, but aromatic, fresh herbal-like hops. All highly aromatic and balanced.
Rich and malty with deep, supple, comforting honey drying out nicely on the finish with pepper and herbs. Quite a bit of hop bitterness. It's not acidic or overpowering, but makes the beer rich and strong-feeling, while also balancing the bock-like maltiness.
