Very pretty bottle. Clear reddish brown with a white head that fades. Gentle but intriguing aroma of caramel, decaying wood/ fungus, earth, prunes, vague citrus. But the citrus is more defined in the taste and it creeps out of the old tasting earthy/ mushroomy malty flavours in a quite surprising way. Hard to tell how much of the apparent tartness is citrus-like and how much is vinegar-like. Had me thinking of ponzu sauce a bit. Donβt quite know what to make of this one.

Tap. Pours clear reddish hazel, medium creamy beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is light citrus, caramel, lemon, grapefruit, dusty, on. Flavor is light plus sweet, light tart, hint of funk. Dark fruits and toffee, grapefruit and orange juice. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Interesting and not easily categorized, if not hugely complex.

Bottle from Bottle Shop at home. Dark dark amber almost brown pour - pretty clear. Dense thin head. Aroma is sour and tart hops with sweet malty undertones. Really nice. Taste follows - very tart and hoppy with a sweet and sour berry aftertaste. Great but not so similar to the "original" tall poppy. Would get again.
