12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/15/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big pumpkin, seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, gingerbread, toasted pie crust, caramel, and brown sugar; with lighter notes of coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of pumpkin, spices, dark/bready malt, and light coffee notes; with great strength. Taste of huge pumpkin, seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, gingerbread, toasted pie crust, caramel, and brown sugar; with lighter notes of coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spice bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of pumpkin, seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, gingerbread, toasted pie crust, caramel, brown sugar, light vanilla/coffee, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin, spices, dark/bready malt, and light coffee flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and slightly sticky/grainy/chalky mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 8.6%. Overall this is a fantastic pumpkin ale. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin, spices, dark/bready malt, and light coffee flavors; very smooth and insanely easy to drink for the ABV. The coffee aspect was really not huge at all, but it seemed to make the mouthfeel way more silky and smooth. Same Pumking flavor profile with less bitter/drying spice notes. Not as aromatically vibrant on pumpkin/spice notes as the base beer. A highly enjoyable offering as expected, but still prefer the base beer much more.

Tap at bowsers. Let first start off by saying pumking is not the best pumpkin beer in the world, far from it; I gave it a 1.8, but what do I know about beer, whatever. This beer is clear pale, like the original. Odd pumpkin smell, but I can tell its pumpkin. Quite unique for a pumpy brew. Overall, the coffee makes it better than the original.

12 ounce bottle. Frothy beige head disappates somewhat. Big pumpkin spice nose, with a slight hint of coffee. Bittersweet toasted malt upfront. Lots of pumpkin spice with obvious notes of cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Then their is the coffee element. It competes with the spices. It's like Dunkin Donuts brewed a coffee beer and threw in a pumpkin latte for good measure. Too much going on here. Warming alcohol notes lead to a odd tasting bitter finish.

Chalumeaux split this 12 oz. bottle. Almost clear in color orange with fast dying head. Aroma is vanilla, chai tea, and paint thinner. Dear god, it has a medicinal or chemical note to it. Toffee mixed chai tea, old milk, old coffee grounds, and acetone. Left a caramel and overwhelming acetone and chai spice finish. This is the worse beer Southern Tier has ever brewed. Abomination of a beer.

Not for me, not by a long shot. Weird amalgamation of disparate parts, stitching together the pumpkin-pie-in-a-bottle indulgence of regular Pumking with a heavy dose of roasty java bitterness, all while maintaining some semblance of a beer. None of it goes together, however; the initial blast of sweet cinnamon and nutmeg crashes against an unwieldy block of strong coffee, leading to a bitter back end mixing burnt notes with heavy spicing. Looks are rather blah, coming out a fizzy orange with little head and no lacing. Nose is perfect, a slice of old-fashioned pumpkin pie siting next to a mug o' joe. Texture seems overcarbonated, but at least the alcohol's hidden. Pass.
