Bottle. Kernel advent box. Nearly black. Immense swede. Literally nobody does a better swede. Phenomenal. Anyway. Char and a touch of treacle. Scorched citrus fruit. Definitely hitting BIPA territory here. Taste has some sweetness up front with a robust bitterness. Super creamy overall. Proper unputdownable. Roast malt and juicy hop bitterness to finish. Drinking this Xmas day after a fuck off pile of other class gear but it stands out ridiculous.

Tap at the kernel brewery taproom bermondsey. A opaque jet black coloured pour with a lasting fine light tan head. Aroma is big dark smooth bitter roast, varnish on pine furniture, dark chocolate, mellow ashy note, zippy lemon. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, highish carbonation.. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, punchy roast, zippy lemon pine sap. Spicy notes, bitter roast, light Ash. Really nice.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Dark brown body with a thick beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon, lime, charred wood and roasted malt. Flavour of lemon, espresso and dark chocolate. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Tangy and rich. This is great but Citra isn’t my favourite hop for this beer style.

Rating 1,000 of THE Kernel Brewery. Had to be one of their best, an EIP. Had the usual hearty dark malt and roasty character. The citrusy brightness is perhaps a bit more forward in this one, leaning the beer some lightness. A little pine, cocoa, lime peel, orange, black coffee. Great balance. Condition is sound. Moreish. But more oily citrus and dry roast to finish. Outstanding. Cheers Kernel.
