Smooth but crisp, easy drinking black IPA utilising some of the more modern German hops. Mandarina Bavaria and Hallertau Blanc bring some fruity notes to a delicately roasty malt backbone.

330ml can via Beer52, brewed by Siren according to the label.. Poured into my Gordon thistle shaped glass at home on 19th November 2025. Sediment left the can and sat suspended in the brew before trying to settle, took a minute or two. Margie is out with friends for lunch and I am picking off random beers from my stash to get rid of. Second up is this offering. Red hue to the dark brown body, neat tanned crust on top. Malty aroma, taste is a bitter burnt maltiness that reminds me of burnt cinder toffee somewhat. Add a plum or two in the finish.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A glossy deep cola brown coloured pour with a fast fading beige head; unexpected melon aroma; smooth in the mouth with some bitter roast grains and strong coffee, then some mandarin orange before a dry toasted grain finish. An unusual hop selection for a dark beer, but it works well.

330ml can from Beer52. Pours a dark brown, beige head with wispy retention. Aroma of dark malts, honey, tangerine, melon, spice. Taste of dark malt, caramel, melon. Mild roasted and berry finish. Light to mid bodied, slick.

A Black IPA even in session form is often a good thing. This one is middle of the road but very enjoyable.
