We called this cyder Imperial in honour of our forefather JB Chevallier's success at the Imperial Fruit Show in 1921. Every year we craft a special vintage. This is our 292nd.
An exceptional full-bodied cyder, made with a blend of muscovado sugar and a single year's harvest of bittersweet apples.

Bottle from Asda Dyce. #292 vintage. It pours clear deep amber with no head, like apple juice from concentrate. The aroma is sweet, sticky, sugary, over ripe apple, apple pie, pie crust, apple skin, touch if earth and leather. The taste is crisp, dry initially, then it sweetens up, sugary, sticky, over ripe apple, apple juice from concentrate, apple pie, apple tango, slick, oily, light tangy pucker, alcohol is pretty well tamed, but you can feel it after a while and light caramel with a tangy finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and slick, oily mouth feel. Simple, sweet, but actually it's fine.
