A fine balance between malt and hops delivers a satisfying and rounded pale ale with an amber colour, fruity nose and good hop aroma.

Cask @ The Bull Inn, Olney. Light to mid gold. Full white head, which quickly dissipates. Faint but delightful aroma of fruit (white grape?) and honey.Taste is mostly sweet. Some bitter hiding under the duvet in the finish. Slight sulphur adds complexity to an otherwise straightforward beer.

Cask at Cross Keys, Handsworth, Sheffield. Looks good, and has a shunkly pump clip. The beer though, is sweet, sticky, clarty and other than that tastes of not a lot. Really not my thing.

Cask-conditioned at the New Inn, Mayshill, South Gloucestershire 8/12/2013. Deep gold with a decent white head. Stone fruits, some caramel sweetness, a faint suggestion of cinnamon and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.
