On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - golden with a nice fluffy head. Nose - orange and malt bag. Taste - a bit more approachable than the nose. Orange more forthright. A bit of cereal at the back. Palate - light bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - it’s solid enough.

Cask at the Watermans Arms, Eton, 19/12/14. Clear golden with a decent off white head. Nose is malty, caramel, straw, not offensive but not inspiring. Taste comprises straw, fruit rinds, light spice, malt notes, grain. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterness. Basic affair, drinkable but bland, yawn!

Hand-pulled pint in The Kings Head, Newport, Shropshire on 11th Jan 2014. A smooth white foam on top of a light amber body: it gave some heavy lacing as the beer level fell. Malty nose and taste front: the hops did give a slight dry finish but I found this a little one dimensional and almost boring.
