Take it easy and lean into tradition. This light-bodied best bitter rolls gently with nutty biscuit, roasted coffee, and a soft, toasty finish. Brewed with Fuggles and Challenger hops, it’s smooth, balanced, and timeless.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 16 July 2026) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly roasty nose with toast, dried apricots, prunes and grain. Malty, slightly roasty taste with notes of toast, dried apricots, prunes, bread and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Light body, quite dry. Well made and highly drinkable bitter. Very nice.

Cadk at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak. Clear chestnut brown. Thin foamy white head. Aroma has sour berries and perfume over caramel. Flavourwise it had a medium bitterness with a sour edge. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Decent.
