Beer #9500! Super hazy deep copper and orange coloured body with a light copper glow and a a soft bronze tint, all with a fairly fast-dying off-white head, only about two centimetres tall at first that fades to just a thin layer a few seconds later. Aroma of super tart, soured, funky foeder and bretty notes with a lot of fruits here as well showing some strawberries, passionfruit, hibiscus, lemons and best of all gueuze notes in the nose with most of this one smelling from the funkiness than anything else with seemingly a great sour quotient. Medium-bodied; Strong soured and tart notes dominate at first with some lemons, grapefruit, bretty, lactobilly and especially foeder notes from oak, cedar and even a deeper woodsie note that brings out the complexities from the yeast here with a lot of funkiness, some softer grapes and raspberries and ending with a great layer of sweetness captured on top of the soured, tart bretty flavours from spontaneous fermentation. Aftertaste shows the very robust, rich and soured/tart notes front and centre with enough of a malt body from wheat to support these flavours, while still being easy-drinking, but the spontaneous fermentation, bretty and overall yeast notes are amazing here with perhaps one of the most complex and robust finishes I've had in a long time - great for Beer #9500!!! I sampled this 500 mL bottle, purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Columbus Circle), New York on 30-June-2016 for US$14,99, my birthday many years ago, sampled some six+ years later at my house here in Washington, as Beer #9500. If I would have known this one would be so good, I would have bought a bunch, even having to bring it home with me and paying this money on each bottle, this was something special. Drink it, or to be honest, hold it for a bit longer, if you have one!

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head that lasts. The aroma is strong funk, floral, cherry pith. Medium body, funk, brett, tart cherry, oak, very good

Bottle. Cloudy golden color, large fluffy white head with good retention. Nice aroma of tannins, tart cherry, lemon. Taste is softly sour cherry, white wine, more tannins. Delicious.
