(Cask at King's Arms, Bethnal Green, London, 22 Nov 2025) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts and a touch of smoke. Malty, roasted, sweetish taste with chocolate, coffee, cacao, dark bread and a mild roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Smooth, well balanced and tasty. Very nice.

Victorian Craft Beer Cafe Back In Black Beer Festival 2025, Beer#2. Not quite black, this new house beer for them, but a very steady porter with good smooth dark malts.

Cask at Curious Gnome, Chester. Pours almost black with a small foamy tan head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly roasted malts with some hints of honey. In the mouth it is quite sweet, but with a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has roasted malts, chocolate and cocoa with hints of liquorice and vanilla coming later. A touch of fruitiness in the finish. This is decent.
