This Pale Ale is fermented with a classic Belgian yeast strain and 2 native Brettanomyces strains from the Senne Valley in Belgium.

Upfront subtle maltiness and spicy aromas from a generous Styrian Golding dry hop addition, lead to a hoppy dry delicate funky finish. Delicious! This ever changing beer will age well.

Bottle. What a strange little brew. A sour ale/Pale ale. A slightly hazy gold color with a head that looks like soap scum. White, yet irregular. Aroma is sour cherry, dry wine and just a whiff of spruce. Taste is all sour ale up front with a pale ale finish.

500ml waxed bottle, no dating that I could find. The main reason I acquired this was for the Hazelnuts.

Pours black with an inch of tan foam, lacing is good.

Taking some whiffs in and I am in Hazelnut heaven. Me=big fan of Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar and Nutella so it's only natural.

It's also loaded with chocolate and has delightful notes of roasted malt.

Taste doesn't disappoint. Hazelnut flavours are like biting into the wafers without the crunch. Milk chocolate is kinda sweet but doesn't make the beer sweet. Roasted malt and some vanilla, yeah, that's what I am talking aboot. The ample abv is hidden pretty well, at least in the opening 4 sips or so.

Fullish mouthfeel, smooth as silk, every sip tastes better than the last...my kind of high abv Milk Stout. So very enjoyable!

Shared bottle. Pours cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma and flavors of pineapple, tart fruit, funk, barnyard, plastic, brett. Interesting.

Batch 3 bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear orange with a finger of soapy head that dissipates quickly. Nose is quite nice with horseblanket, dried pineapple, peach and spricot aromas standing out. Light on the palate, with a spritzy carbonation that comes through. Definitely some sweetness on the palate with some funky sock notes as it warms up. Light Belgian yeast notes present as well. Finish is more balanced with some dryness coming out and lingering cherry and peach notes. Some funk and peppercorn notes in there as well. --- Beer merged from original tick of Delicieux on 12 Jan 2018 at 23:30 - Score: 8. Original review text: Hotserblanket, dried pineapple, peach and aoricot aromas. Spritzy carbonation. Sweet and funky. Sweaty sock funk, cherry and peach. Pepper.

Lives up to its name; if you’re drinking this beer, you’re gonna embrace a shitload o’ funk. Has a very Saison-ish spicy soul, bursting with bright haystack malts and a mild honey-on-bread sweet yeastiness. Pushes a mild bitterness--the Styrian Goldings provide a medicinal Euro-hop dry backbone--but the finish is all funk, huge swaths of horseblanket and wet earth. Still, seems a bit simple for a Brett beer, lacking much beyond its basic Belgium foundation and that uber-funky fade.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a clear deep amber with an orange hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of light fruits and Belgian yeast with sweet grains and a hint of funk underlying. Flavor has light fruits and some sweet grains with a bit of leaves and light funk.
