For this iteration, I chose to mostly feature a single barrel of barley wine - an amburana barrel that was most recently used to finish an experimental bourbon from Nulu in Kentucky. I opted to blend in a bit of barley wine from a Buffalo Trace barrel as well as a bit of double barrel-aged barley wine from Blanton's and rye ex-cognac.

Dark brown, no head. A lot of amburana on the nose, along with sticky sugars. The bourbon is more prominent on the palate, good body, some sticky sugars, a bit of fruit, lots of amburana. Woody and a touch of heat in the finish. Good stuff.

330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with little head. Aromas of boozy bourbon, rich amburana, vanilla, chocolate syrup, cinnamon, and slick roasted malts. Rich flavors follow same with additional sweetened figs. Fairly hot finish. Overall excellent, and worth the steep price.

On tap at Threefold. Pours dark brown with a minimal beige head. Lots of bourbon, amburana, and toffee on the nose. Flavour is intense and woody with loads of bourbon and amburana, nice dry malt character, some dries fruits in the background. Thick body, finishing with cinnamon and nutmeg. This is excellent.

On tap at Threefold, pours a deep dark down into our a small brown head. Nose is complex as hell, with tons of deep bourbon barrels, some smokiness to the wood, a touch of the amburana, and some bready toffee. Flavour is extremely rich and full-on, with intense and complex bourbon barrels, huge wood, a bit of the amburana, light smokiness, a touch of dark dried fruits, and some toffee. Fairly low residual sweetness for the style, showcasing that beautiful wood. Damn, this is awesome.
