Named after the elusive creature with the head of a shark and the body of a boy that first swooped in on a broom during construction of the brew pub, this imperial IPA can elevate a bad day to good. The Witchshark is shy and mischievous, but once you let him into your heart you’ll see why this intense brew is such a popular one.
Highly drinkable, with well-balanced bitterness, restrained malt character, and tons of tropical mango and tangerine notes.

Rated on June 7th, 2014. Pours clear amber, nice foam. Aroma is strongly tropical, silky hop pillow that is supported by a pile of malts - and where youc an also find some mangos, peaches and mandarines. Sweet fruits come forward also in taste, first sip takes all those aromas through your throat, increasing this pleasant sensation. Clear and well-balanced, with a necessary hop-bite. Excellent example of a North American double IPA!

On tap at the brewery. Clear copper gold with a nice filmy off-white head. A piney resinous aroma. The taste is sharply bitter pine, some resin & a solid caramel body. Very nice double IPA not too complex but well balanced.

Beautiful deep golden color. Huge mango, piney nose with a touch grapefruit and caramel. Big malty backbone, very clean, with lots of mango, caramel and pine notes. Full bodied, really well balanced and beautifully executed. Big bitter lasting finish. Wonderful IIPA. Stone fruit also lingers in the finish.

Bottle bought from the brewery. Pours a light orange-amber with a finger of off-white foamy head with lacing. Big nose of pine and citrus hops. Taste of hops up front leaning toward the citrus first, some vanilla flavours, soft bready malts, an overall creaminess, with a piney finishing. A creamy mouth-feel. A little lingering bitterness in the aftertaste, not lovely, but a price worth paying for the rest of it. "I think it’s a little funny that the "witch" part of the Witchshark is wearing a very hipster sweater. Quite the witch.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a deep slightly hazy orange with a generous off white head that hangs around for a while. Nose is citrus , mango and pine with some hint of bready malt. Slightly sweet start with some pepper leading into a nice level of bitterness with grapefruit dominant. Medium full body with lively carbonation. Excellent.

Sample at the Beers from the Bikes Villes tasting on 11/08/2013. Hazy orange-amber pour with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Short strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is hoppy with citrus and malt notes. Medium to full body with flavors of pithy grapefruit, dank hops and malt. The finish is resiny hops up front with a grainy malt aftertaste. Fell short in my opinion.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours orange copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is a strong cross of earth and cat pee. And maybe sweat sox. Full bodied. Flavor is earthy, floral, lightly citrus. Mild hop burn. Strong flavors. Very. Caramel is almost lost, but does its job. Finishes towards dry. And bitter. Tho not harsh. Amazing hop level.
