Our 800th batch brewed here at Franklin’s since we first fired the kettle back in 2002. A rich strong ale packed with toasted and caramel malts leave this beer with an impression of fresh baked bread.

Draft at the source. Cloudy to murky reddish amber color, thin white head. Aroma of lightly toasted fruitcake and toffee. Taste is burnt caramel, light spice, light tartness. Interesting.

On tap at the brewpub pours a murky, deep amber with some cloudy, white head. Nose is true to the style, some soggy grains, a little dried fruit, mild port notes, a little cherry. Flavor falls off just a touch, while cold there was a nice malt/honey comb character, raisins and dried cherries too. As it warmed, there was a bit to much black tea, some astringent alcohol and sadly... some out of place sourness.

Light copper and some caramel. Pours hazy mahogany with OK head and lacing. Hint of oak. Some bitterness in finish. Some citrus as well. Tap at brewpub.
