A Belgian Amber Ale, because I love you so much!

A brownish red Belgian ale that explodes with fruit filled aromas of strawberry, banana, and nectarine. Malt sweetness is quite low allowing similar fruit flavors throughout complimented by hints of spice and a slight bitterness.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a caramel-brown color with a large creamy orange-beige head that left great lacing. The aroma was dryish and musty with band aid and citrus. The flavor was sourish and tangy with band aid, yeast, vague fruity hops and table sugar. Long finish. Medium body and smooth. Ok.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. Bubble gum and pear aroma. Flavor is yeasty bubble gum and pear, some caramelly flavor. This is a pretty good rendition of this type of beer.

Bottle pour to pint glass. Dark amber. Aroma strawberry-banana. Banana, bubblegum, fruit taste. Like nothing I’ve had before but just an okay beer.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/15/2016. Pours lightly hazy deep reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big strawberry, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, light banana/bubblegum, pepper, clove, caramel, brown sugar, biscuit, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Fantastic aromas with awesome balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big strawberry, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, biscuit, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate floral bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of strawberry, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, biscuit, floral, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitterness and yeast spice as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding hoppy Belgian amber ale style. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Draft at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Cloudy medium orange-brown body, thin cream head. Spicy nose, estery with notes of nectarines and berries. Estery, fruity body, quite complex, with prominent nectarine, banana, and strawberries, complemented with clove, hints of chocolate, and tangy brown sugar. There’s a lot going on here, and it’s mostly good.
