Pounder from Appalachian. NB glass. Strong, lingering head. Foggy brew. Mellow but lingering tea, orange slices, light coriander, maybe some oxidation/peanut. Smells great. Tasty additions are more subdued. I get a lot of earthy yeast, peanut, slight coriander, some lemon, some mint, lingering bitter tea. Seems oxidized. Life is oxidized. Frothy, low abv, easy. Started off good, really dropped off.

Taste comprises lemon rind, floral notes, toasted grains, coriander, bitter citric zest, hay bale. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent refresher.

Fairly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a nice three to four centimetre tall off-white head that starts off quite tall and fades fairly nicely while leaving a nice lace on the side of the glass. Aroma of very strong, spicey wheat and coriander seed notes with a bunch of cloves, earthiness, yeast and breadie funk with a prominent wheat and peated malt note with some fennelseed coming towards the end as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong spicey notes dominate at first with some curacao and full orange flavours and sweetness that punch through ahead of the pungent wheat and yeast notes with a light dose of floral and herbal components and ending with more of the dry spicey notes and strong yeast component, all with being a bit mild on the finish and still somehow fairly easy-drinking. Aftertaste shows the wheat and yeast up front with some of the dry characteristics and floral aspects, while really hitting heavy with the spices and pepper, clove and coriander seed notes with a good deal of earthiness at the finish. Overall, about what you'd expect for the style, but with perhaps more spices, dryness, earthiness and funky yeast characteristics, but the wheat, easy-drinking, light sweetness and subdued quality still make this a typical witbier, in a good way, but not a beer that you need to stop everything and go try to find immediately. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 10-July-2020 for US$3,95 sampled at my house here in Washingotn on Labor Day, 07-September-2020 before sending two of my kids off to the house for fake school during a fake pandemic.
