Gose (pronounced "Goes-uh") is a unique German Style beer, known for a slight tartness and mineral character. We brewed our gose with an unexpected combination of ingredients, including a pinch of salt, coriander and spicy Saaz Noble hops to create a light and refreshing taste.

Pours an amber with a slight green tinge from a bottle. Spicy aroma of coriander, slight flavor of cucumber water and a bit of Saaz profile in there, but not rocking the boat and not a wonderful example of the style.

Some light cucumber makes this slightly interesting, and it’s really easy to drink. Light salt and only a hint of lime. Clear golden pour with ok head. Light tang but mostly clean finish. Bottle from taster pack at work.

12 oz bottle from the Summer mix pack. Aroma is sugary, grain, light lemon. Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head that falls after a minute. Taste is lightly sweet, no tartness whatsoever (WTF??), no saltiness; wheaty with a distinct watermelon-like flavor. Has a creamy wheat ale mouthfeel. Here’s the bottom line: as a gose, this is a complete failure. The only thing gose-like about it is the wheat. It’s not tart at all. No salt. Why would they market this as a gose? Lame, lame, lame. As an American Wheat Ale, this is actually really tasty. It puts super boring beers like Widmer Hefe and Pyramid Hefe to shame, actually. So, completely ignoring style guidelines, this is a good beer. Just don’t market it as a gose, Boston Beer. If you don’t have the balls to provide some tartness and/or saltiness, just call it a wheat beer.

On tap at Beer NV
Clear golden with a medium sized white head, good lacing. Aroma of citrus and rubber. Flavors of citrus and herbal
Decent beer, but this doesn’t resemble a gose.

12 oz bottle shared by a friend, thanks Mike! Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of coriander, light salt, light lemon. Tastes of herbs, light spice, malt. Didn’t get the cucumber. Light body with a dry finish. No tartness. Nothing like a gose. Seems like more of an herb/spice beer to me.

Bottle. Coriander, salt, and light biscuit malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet cucumber, salt, and lightly bitter straw flavor. Okay body. Decent but very light.
