Gose (pronounced "Goes-uh") is a unique German Style beer, known for a slight tartness and mineral character. We brewed our gose with an unexpected combination of ingredients, including a pinch of salt, coriander and spicy Saaz Noble hops to create a light and refreshing taste.

Bottle. Not very good and for the style it was not a good representative. Had better.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2016. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has an earthy wheat with light lemon tartness and a good amount of straw. Flavor has an odd cucumber note with some light lemon but mainly grains and bread.

12oz bottle. Past the expiration date by a couple of months. Cucumber adds some earthy greenness. Coriander is more prominent than any sour/lacto tones. Pretty bland, uninspired. Medium bodied. Mild cucumber beer.

Very slightly hazy golden coloured body with a two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of light salt, cucumbers, a touch of wheat, some coriander seed and a bit of very light sugars. Light malt flavour with some salt, coriander seed, grass, hay and a touch of odd vegetables along with some pickle juice. Aftertaste is mild at least, but not showing any real good flavours - some mellow sweetness from caster sugar and very light fruit, a touch of malt and body and a faint bit of salt, but no sour elements at all throughout the beer and nothing in terms of complexity at all. Overall, a pretty poor beer in general, but not a good gose at all - period. Definitely not worth trying, even if you really like the style, and perhaps, especially if you DO like the style! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia at the end of my driveway on 25-July-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 26-September-2016.

12 oz. bottle. Aroma is weak coriander, pale grain. Flavor is slightly citric acid, with an overplayed coriander seed. I am not getting any salt in the finish. Pale grain mixed with citric acid, not really much else here. Poor Sam Adams, trying to make approachable innovated styles mainstream and really failing at it. Not good, just barely drinkable.

Bottled best before Oct ’16, drunk 8/23/16.
Very minimal haze to this drab, copper-bronze body. Small, off-white head atop shows moderate to moderately low retention.
Coriander and citrus are quite strong in the nose, as well as sugary, vanilla-laden malts. Little/no lactic character (assuming they just dumped some lactic acid in to this) and low salinity. Slight mettalica notes, as well, with no alcohol noted.
Thick, salt and wheat-laden texture is bogged down by too much sugar. Coriander is spicy and enjoyable, yet somewhat overdone, as well. Sweetness bogs down the palate and there’s not much tartness/acidity to speak of. As with other large production examples (Otra Vez comes to mind immediately), it doesn’t translate well.

All Pints North, 2016. I thought this was ok. I was focused on the cucumber before even tasting it. cucumber is light in the aroma, but more in the flavor. A hint of yeast, not sour at all, no salt, and nothing to suggest it is a gose in any way. As a refreshing cucumber beer however, it is not bad in warm summer weather.
