Pilsner
Time. Its story is often lost in the depiction of its result. Basking in the rays of the sun, the clock casts a new shadow and ushers in refreshing new life. What was once here has cured, transformed and grown fuller. And the story of its emergence is paved with untold patience. The Pilsner is the almighty gift of time. Never filtered, the presence of hops provide an aroma suggestive of wildflower, honey and lemon. Keep your palate clean, revel in your beverage.

Big head! Seems protein rich. Pale gold with a little chill haze. Its from Jan 2023, drinking in Aug, so only 8 months but maybe it should be drunk fresher than that even. The grassy hops are there but also just a hint at cheese and oxidation. Clean rounded mouthfeel, mostly dry and crackery with more cheesy hop flavors. Too bad because I love tettnanger hops. Really comes across true to the pils ideal though, again mostly dry, a good smack of bitterness, and a crack of hop flavor.

Can from Tavour. Pours translucent gold with a monstrous white head. It turned frothy and laced. Aroma is bready/grassy/spicy. Arguably med body. Flavor is the aroma. Crisp and dry. Nicely bitter. Good flavor. Well within the style.

Saaz hops and decent barley. Golden pour with decent initial fluffy head. Crisp finish, but not as bitter as best Czech pils. Can.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear orange gold to almost copper with a finger of foam that dissipates quickly. Corn and clove honey on the nose. Sweet on the palate with more corn, honey malt, lemon zest and faint peppery bitterness. Lowish carbonation and feels heavy.

Draught, taster. Sampled on the 27/10/2018 at "Mash Beer Festival 2018", Barcelona (Spain). Hazy yellow colour with a low white head. Aroma is sweet malts, grains, corn and fresh grass. Taste is clean with presence of sweet malts, bread and some yeast. Finish is slightly herbal, with presence of spices and sweet malts. Overall a decent pilsner. Next one please!

Rather sweet and corny, with a background citric yeastiness paving the way for a slightly bitter floral finish. White bread comes with the fade, followed by a lingering corn undercurrent. Not bad, but seems a tad regressive for a pils.

16 ounce can into lager glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts the whole glass. Nice thick foamy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, cracker, corn, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, cracker, corn, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, cracker, corn, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a delicious Czech pilsner. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Spot on style example, though it does have corn. Balanced pils malt/earthy hop flavors, with mellow balancing bitterness. A very enjoyable offering.
