Pours a rich deep brown from a bottle with a light tan head with some lacing. Aroma of light chocolate, caramel, and a bit of roasted pepper. Flavor is all similar, but ever so slightly bigger roasted pepper on the finish. Not spicy though, and a little out of place, almost vegetal or even vinegar notes hinted at. Thin. Good beer.

Rich deep brown coloured body with an equally rich dense light brown head, about four centimetres tall. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, earth, malt, toffee, light chiles, cherries, lactose and a bit of toast - nice and robust. Medium-bodied; Assertive earthy malt up front with some chocolate, a bit of roast, some nuts, a lot of chile flavour (not heat though) and a little watery coffee near the end. Aftertaste shows some earthy funk, a lot of caramelised sugars, some alcohol touches, a bit of cardboardie malt and a hit of chocolate at the finish. Overall, a nice and interesting beer that isn’t a porter and isn’t necessarily a herb/spice beer, but a good amalgamation between styles. Not superb, but not bad, and given the limited run, a nice beer to try! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (I Street, Foggy Bottom), DC on 10-May-2016 for US$6,99 sampled at home in Washington on 02-October-2016.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into snifter. Clear medium brown with small off-white head. Aroma is jalapeño, light/medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is jalapeño and dark malt.

22oz bottle. Bottled on January 22nd, BB 6/26/16. Black beer, cocoa head. The problem with this beer is not the adjuncts, I get a bit of pepper, poblano for sure, a little roast poblano. The problem is the base porter. Its moderately roasted and some cocoa off the nibs. Has a bit of a mineral and generally industrial character. I could drink it but I am a little unhappy about it.

Draft. Clear deep maroon color, tan head. Aroma has cocoa and chili. Taste has roasty cocoa, dark coffee, very subtle chili heat. Decent.

Enjoy by date of 06/15/16.
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds leaving some foamy lacing all around.
The smell had the cocoa nibs up front, fairly dry. Chili’s come across super light.
The taste was mainly dry sweet and then the light spice from the chilis slide in underneath in the aftertaste. Semi-smooth dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light.
Overall, I say this was a decent porter. It’s pretty dry all around. And the spices don’t kick in as much as I thought they would have. Maybe again.

Looks black, lots of amber and red edged. More porter than stout. Smells nice. Roasted barley, cedar and even some oak. Just s bit of coffee. The downside of the taste is the spice aspect. Anise, pepper, and chili. It’s there but does fade. Standard other stout elements with a little sweetness. Decent

Pours mahogany tinged black into a tulip. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Chocolate and mild chili aromas. Sharp and dry with sweet hot chocolate and pepper front to back. Lasting expresso finish.
