Collaboration with Cigar City Brewing (Tampa, FL) - Jeff and his team have known the boys at Cigar City for a couple of years, and have been itching to work with them on a collaboration. The name derives from a poem written by Edna St. Vincent Millay, which has dark undertones in its context that fit perfectly with the almost pitch black color of this beer. “The Wise and the Lovely” is a strong stout brewed with lactose and cocoa nibs from Brazil.

Roast, caramel. Comes together ok. Finishes bittersweet. Not a lot to this like action movie plots. Tap at Savor.

12 oz can poured into a snifter. Canned 4/14/2016. Black with half a finger of tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, dark fruit, caramel, roasty notes, a little coffee, a bit of a woody note. Tastes of dark chocolate, roasty notes, some coffee, toffee, hint of booze. Full body with a dry and slightly warm finish. Alcohol is mostly well masked. Very tasty, hope to see this again in the future!
