Back in merry olde England, the roadside inns were abuzz with banter and smiling glances from buxom barmaids - barmaids who, we might add, brewed the ale they served. In their honor, our brewers treat each batch of Dundee English-Style Ale they brew with the same love and care as the barmaids of old, combining pale and caramel malts with Columbus and Cascade hops for a malty, slightly sweet finish. Now, if only they’d stop dressing like barmaids...

Bottle. Slightly fruity barley malt aroma. Hazy deep brassy gold with a moderate off-white head, nice lacing. Fruity barley malt and light grassy flavor. Light body, soft carbonation. Overall a little light, but not bad at all and very easy to drink.

Looks pretty much like a pale beer in the glass, decent head goes slightly rocky. Slight malt aroma. Has that typical dundee flavor in the background. Overall not bad, goes down fairly easy. Except for that dundee background flavor, does have manners.

The appearance is a murky brown/amber with a carbonated tan head that only lasts a couple seconds. The smell has some barley and grainy sweetness, some alcohol and no hops. There is a bit of earthiness in the smell as well. The taste has a malty backbone with some caramel. The palate is thin, moderately carbonated with a slightly dry finish. Overall, a decent beer I would have again, preferably on tap. However, this isn’t something I would buy all of the time.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear yellow gold with a small off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is bready malt and honey. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt and caramel with nice smooth finish. Easy to drink a good English pale ale from Genesee.

Bottle. Honey barley malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Sweet honey barley malt and light bitter herbal hops flavor. A nice beer - would drink this regularly.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale gold with minimal head. Aroma is slightly malty with a little herbal hops. Not much there. Taste is light bitter. More malty than I expected. Light bodied with a thin texture. Flat carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, not very good. But pretty much on par for most of the Dundee beers I’ve had.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 1/3/12

Aroma: The nose is almost non-existent, with bread notes, grass, earth, and a hint of metal
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a foamy white head and mid-heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet with an herbal, grassy hop flavor, and a metallic twang
Palate: The body is light, it is somewhat watery, with a fairly dull feel, and a slightly metallic finish
Overall Impression: I wasn't really too impressed here. This one just doesn't have a lot going on. It was just kind of lacking. This a boring beer. I don't have too much more to add beyond that.

Just a boring ale. Light amber, medium head. Butterscotch and grainy nose and flavors, mild grassy and herbal hop character, balanced bitterness.

12 oz. bottle from winter craft 12 pack. Nearly clear, golden color. No head or lace. Light malt nose. Light malt taste. I get nothing else at all. Even when warm, I can’t pick up any hops at all. It’s hard to write about a beer that doesn’t have much aroma or flavor.
