Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-golden color with a huge foamy orange-tan head that towered over the glass, lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was malty, tart and fruity. The flavor was bitter with sour caramel, bread and crisp fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, plum, pear, apple, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance, complexity, and robustness of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; with a great crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5.1%. Overall this is a good English pale ale style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
