Bottled (thanks KS). Black colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is vanilla, some roasted malts, mild liquorice as well as some chocolate and mild wooden notes. Flavour is chocolate, alcohol, liquorice and some slight wooden mild vanilla notes. Something inbetween a barley wine and imperial stout as for the flavour.

Draught at Fermentoren, Pohjala tap takeover. Jet black body topped by a diminishing fawn-coloured head. Laced well. Inviting aromas of oak vanilla added by dried fruits. Brown malty flavours together with figs, oak and a warming, lingering end of cognac. Slightly roasted. Lovely slow sipper (Copenhagen 15.05.2016).

Tap at Fermentoren, Copenhagen. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is big roasty malt, rich alcohol, red berry fruit, coffee, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich, smooth, oily, dry coffee earthy palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Awesome.

33cl bottle. Pitch black with a medium height tan head. You can feel the cognac smell up front - probably the first cognac BA beer where I identify it clearly - followed by milk chocolate, macerated sour cherries, barrel sourness, cocoa and coffee. Taste notes include milk chocolate, instant coffee, cherries, burnt caramel and some hot spices in the aftertaste. Really well made imperial stout.

Bottle. Dark inky pour. Aroma of boozy cognac grape, ripe red fruit and oak. Heavy taste of sweet red grape, raisin, boozy cognac, ripe figs, oak and vinous notes. Really long finish. Like a heavy beer desert wine. Very nice.
