330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 14%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of malts, molasses, caramel, oak, cognac and vanilla, hints of chocolate and fusel alcohols. Warming mouthfeel. Rich and sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, also notes of strong coffee and distinct bittering hops.

Backlog September 2019. Black body under a nice, dense beige head. Aroma has dark, roasted malt, dark chocolate, cognac and hint of vanilla. Taste is pleasant sweet malt, dark chocolate, mild roasted, coffee, balancing bitterness, vanilla, wood, warming cognac. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste. Sure a heavy, sweet and boozy beer, but they manage to make it really balanced and pleasant all the way.

Bottle. Pitch oil black, frothy beige head, not lasting. Slight alcohol nose, some chocolate, slightly soury black currant presence. Moderate sweetness, hints of black currant, slightly roasted. Slight alcohol warmth, not too much. Medium full body. Silky texture. Nice one.

Dark brown. On the nose, quite a bit of vanilla, some barrel, touch of molasses and some sort of harsh cognac elements. Soft, sweet, definitely molasses, sultanas, some alcohol but the cognac barrel is showing through quite a bit here. Decent chocolate, deep fruitiness.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma screams out on the intense cognac barrels upfront, with medium roast, and a hint of vanilla. Flavour is sweet, with plenty of sweet liqueur without the burn, gentle warming, toffee, and caramelized brown sugar. The cognac barrels were used to perfection here. While there is obvious hint of the alcohol burn here on the nose, the flavour covers it over big time. Delicious.

Boozy. Rich and raisiny (if that’s a word?!)

Bottle @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours pitch black with a small mocha head. Aromas of cocoa, dry chocolate, oats, oak, vanilla, booze, dark dried fruits. Taste has a lot of the same cocoa, sweet chocolate, hard roast, sweet fruity notes, dry, chocolate, licorice. Very well made.
