Canned. Another one of them damned weed beers. Enjoyable enough but nothing spectacular.

Part of their mixed bag variety pack in Vermont for Easter 2017. Pour a very slight hazed golden colour with a warm cap with creamy lacing. Very IPA kind of noise with fresh citrusy-grassy hops. The taste has some sweetness and grain of a California Common, but the hops come in strongly in the finish. Some nice citrus notes, but really seems like an IPA. Only hints of the grain instead of the caramel malts.

Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet, yeasty, buttery and perfumey. The flavor was buttery, perfumey and awful. Medium length finish. Medium body and smooth. Disgusting.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Aroma is floral, herbal, vaguely metallic, champagne yeast over base biscuit/cracker malt. Appearance is slightly hazy, light golden orange with nice sparkle, finger-width foamy white head with poor retention but nice sticky sudsy lacing. Taste is light biscuit/cracker with bitter and tart back end. Palate is medium bodied with foamy texture, average carbonation and bitter/tart finish. Overall, complicated aroma but not sure it works harmoniously. Taste isn’t as complex and the bitter/tart combination isn’t my bag.

12 oz. bottle thanks to Chalumeaux, thanks for the gift! Is this anything like Anchor Steam beer?? Hard to know because I have had not sampled Anchor since 2010. Aroma has a slight mineral water and weak citrus hop nose.
Flavor has a bready malt base with earthy hop bitterness. The body is very lean and texture is dry. Bitterness gets a touch abrasive. So they are going for a hopped up steam beer?? I think this brew has an identity crisis. I guess the brewer did reach the goal of a new aged Cali Common?

Yellow with a little hint of orange. I don’t know. These beers. Just hard to rate okay so it’s bitter, dry, no sweetness. Pumpkin and bananas. With a very bitter finish.
