Sample from a bottle at the Avery 23rd Anniversary Party. Dark, clear, purplish red color, with no real head. Strong red wine character, with some lemon juice, brown sugar, cardamom, and brown sugar. Sweet up front with a strong, relatively mellow tartness. Medium body, a bit vinegar like, slick, and lightly acidic. This is a fun, vinous beer.

Tasting at Matt’s; bottled Dec 4 2014
Dark amber color, clean, small head. Sour aroma, woody, with a note that reminds me good aged meads, and a fruity note of cherries. Good body strength, lean mouthfeel, well defined sourness, with a well defined grapey fruitiness, and a hint of balsamic vinegar.
Excellent.

12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark cloudy amber orangey brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out red wine barrels, some moderate acidity, and some light red berries. Flavour brings out musty grape skins, moderate acidity and some dry red wine. Musty, dry and tart. Quite complex. Really nice stuff.

Bottle in the hotel lobby, RBWG ’15, night 2 - 20/02/15 thanks to whomever shared this number. Chestnut brown with a moderate off white covering. Nose is funky brett tones, wood must, apple core, pear drop, damp hay, toffee. Taste comprises tangy dark fruit, pissy vibes, wood must, light dry rot, apple orchard, white grape. Medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid enough sour, hides the ABV well.
