Shared bottle. Pours dark brown with a light beige head. Aroma and flavors of strong acetone, red vinegar, dark fruits, alcohol. One sip was more than enough. Drain pour.

Bottle from Das Alpenhaus. Dark brown, Ruby, small airy head. Acetone throughout. Spoils it. Seems like a nice doppelbock, but way too sweet, then vinegar and nail polish

375 fliptop from Wine & Cheese. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Or tan. Aroma of chocolate, rum and mild acetic notes. Med minus body. Flavor is acetone, rum, chocolate and malt. There’s something like vinegar floating in the "air". I’m not finding it extremely acetic. Seems like I’ve had BFMs with more acidity. It’s not likely good for tooth enamel, but it’s not muriatic acid. Have no idea what Mc Vin barrel is. Stainless? Sadly it does make me think a bit of paint remover, but again I think I’ve had BFMs with stronger flavor of that sort. Finally it bottoms out to what is for me a earthy chocolate, tho the paint remover aspect does not go away. I’m drinking it a bit faster than my normal, and that’s probably because of the acidity in the mouth. Ah well. It’s a heavy, a bit beyond sour, ale. But it’s not a drain pour. Think of it as a training exercise. Pain only makes us stronger. I am at 6s and 7s about the rating numbers. This ale has some good aspects, and a palate challenge seems to me to allow for a decent number there.

Tap at Moeder Lambic. Horribly affected by monster amounts of glue-ish acetone, which completely ruins any kind of pleasant experience this beer might have been otherwise. A wreck from the first whiff of aroma until the last burning touch of finish leaves you. I am giving this the worst possible rating because the waiter refused to acknowledge its broken state, and insisted it is always like this. Sort out your problems guys.

On tap at Mother Kelly’s London. As BFM Procrastinator Barrel Aged Eisbock, looking at ABV this should be it. Vinegar, medicine alcohol, very acidic, some fruit notes. Barely drinkable. Something went utterly wrong here.

Tastes more like a flanders red than an eisbock but not sure if thats just the menu getting it wrong. Dark brown pour with ok head. Sour plum and some citrus. Some raspberries. Some nail polish vibe and booze. Low carbonation. Some light wine. Tap at pizza paradiso dupont.
