Funky, tasty, fresh and clean. This Brett Lager leads with those funky Brett yeast elements. Melon, orange, grapefruit and a soft dankness add to the complexity. Nice and dry to the finish.

32oz growler from Stateline Liqours poured into an oversized Kasteel wine glass. Aroma is very bretty, a slick bitter herb brett. Flavor is mostly a slick malt with a bitter herbal end. It’s definitely brett, not very lagerish or the type of brett funk I adore. But a fun beer nonetheless.

On Tap at BitterCreek Alehouse Pale hazy yellow lager, plenty of eastern spicy floral hops and also plenty of brett funk. Interesting combo. Not sure it works for me, but still seems nicely done.

Hazy and straw. Thin head. Has some brett right up front. Not catching much synergy here, though, as the brett is clashing substantially with the pale malt and the sort of earthy, crackery malt. Alcohol is quite prominent in the finish, too.

Some light bretta and grapefruit. Soft carbobation. Hazy golden pour with good head and lacing. Light tangy finish. Easy drinking for a bretta beer. Tap at whole foods.

Sampled from the tap at Churchkey. Pours a hazy light yellow with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma is full of funk with some grassy and slightly dry citrus hops supporting. Flavor has lots of funk as well with light grain, grass and a touch of citrus.

Birch and Barley, DC tap: pours orange with a white head. Aroma is funky brett, some dank basement smell, really nice. Taste is bitter and quite bretty. Lingering tingling aftertaste. Really pleasant to drink. Light sugary note at the end. Good.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey during the Victory 20th anniversary event. Hazy golden yellowish orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, stone fruit, light Brett. Tastes of citrus, stone fruit, malt, subtle Brett. Medium body with a dry finish. Tasty, nowhere near as Bretty as Bluejacket’s version.
